InformAfrica – Who is the world’s shortest man? Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal has been announced as the shortest man in the world according to latest Guinness World Records.

According to Guinness World Records, Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal is the World’s Shortest Man ever! (More photos below)

Chandra Bahadur Dangi, a Nepalese, is 72 years old , and only 21.5 inches tall ‘54.6 centimeters’. The Guinness World Record guidelines required three measurements of Chandra’s height taken over 24 hours, which included his length standing and lying flat.

After the announcement Chandra said “I am very happy. Now I want to travel across Nepal and to foreign countries”

He added that he has no desire to get married or have a family of his own, but would like to meet the prime minister of Nepal soon.

72 years old Chandra Dangi who stands at 21.5 inches tall, was crowned the shortest man in Guinness’ 57-year history in February 2012. Prior to the announcement, the record-holder had never ventured far from his remote village of Rhimkholi, Nepal.

“It’s a big thing for my family, my village and my country,” Dangi said in a press release. “I am very happy.”

“Guinness World Records 2013” will be released on Sept. 13.

72-year-old Chandra Dangi from western Nepal has prove to Guinness World Records that he’s the world’s shortest man.

Chandra Dangi beats Junrey Balawing of Philippines, the before Guinness World Records holder who stands at a height of 23.5 inches (60 cm).
